Year 12 Sports Studies Visit

Our Year 12 Sports Studies students recently enjoyed an informative visit to the University of Roehampton, where they were given a valuable insight into a range of sport-related degree courses and career opportunities.

Throughout the day, students explored the fields of Sports Therapy, Sports Management and Sport and Exercise Science, gaining a deeper understanding of what studying these subjects at university involves. The visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to experience university life and learn about the pathways available to them after sixth form.

Students took part in a variety of engaging practical sessions, allowing them to apply their knowledge and experience the hands-on learning that forms a key part of university study. Activities included sport science testing, sports therapy techniques and interactive workshops that showcased the latest equipment and research methods used within the industry.

A particular highlight of the day was the opportunity to meet and speak directly with university lecturers and staff, who shared their expertise and provided valuable advice about higher education, careers in sport and the skills required to succeed within the sector. Students were able to ask questions about university courses, future employment opportunities and life as an undergraduate student. The visit was both enjoyable and educational, helping students to make connections between their current Sport Studies course and the wide range of opportunities available within the sports industry. It also encouraged them to consider their future aspirations and the benefits of pursuing higher education in a sport-related field.
