A Taste of Life at University

I found the trip to the University of Roehampton to be a really valuable experience, as it gave me a genuine insight into what university life is like. The criminology taster session was particularly interesting and helped me develop a better understanding of the subject and what studying it at degree level would involve. One of the highlights of the day was exploring the campus and seeing the different facilities available to students. The campus tour, especially the visit to the library, gave me a clear picture of the learning environment and the resources I would have access to as a university student. Overall, the trip was both enjoyable and informative. It helped me imagine myself studying at university in the future and gave me a better understanding of what to expect from higher education. MM Year 12

I really enjoyed my visit to the University of Roehampton. When I first arrived, I was surprised by how much greenery there was around the campus, which made it feel welcoming and relaxing. I attended the Accounting workshop, and our speaker, Paul Tim, was enthusiastic, engaging, and made the session enjoyable. He encouraged us to ask questions and explained accounting concepts in a simple way, such as the equation equity + loans = assets. He also used real-life examples, including Elon Musk, to show how businesses and successful entrepreneurs manage their finances, which made the session even more interesting. The campus tour was another highlight of the day. It was great to see the facilities, and I even found the chicken coop on campus quite memorable and unique! The trip also made me realise how important it is to start writing my personal statement early so that I have enough time to make it the best it can be. Overall, the visit made me think more seriously about studying accounting at university, and it confirmed that it is a subject I am interested in pursuing. I would definitely recommend Roehampton to anyone considering going to university because of its welcoming campus, excellent facilities, and engaging staff. MB Year 12
